Inky Co. was established with clear goals to protect Australian jobs and produce well designed Australian manufactured products that have a positive impact on our environment.
The team at Inky Co. are concerned about our environment and the impact modern print manufacturing has. We also care vitally about the Australian economy and keeping jobs in Australia. With this in mind, we have made the decision to make sure that the majority of products sold on this website have been designed and manufactured in Australia by Inky Co. These products have been produced using environmentally friendly production techniques and materials to ensure that they are kind to our environment and completely Australian.
To complement our range of Australian made products we have imported certain products from overseas. Wherever possible we have made sure that these products are environmentally friendly. We will never hide the origin of a product from you as we believe in clear, honest communication between us and you.
Inky Co. has also set up strong partnerships with Australian suppliers such as Australia Post who have put in place an Environment Management System, focusing on the environmental impacts of everyday operations. Australia Post is also a signatory to the Federal Government's Greenhouse Challenge program, National Packaging Covenant and Buy Recycled Alliance.
Inky Co. uses 100% Green Power accredited renewable wind energy. All Inky Co. employees are regularly informed about the environmental impact of their work. We are also proud to say that our parent company, The Wrapping Paper Company, is an initial shareholder in Australia's first community based wind farm, Hepburn Wind. For more information about Hepburn Wind please click here.
All wrapping paper sold on this website is 100% recyclable. The white paper stock used in our wrapping paper has a minimum 30% recycled content, the kraft wrapping paper is unbleached stock made from plantation forests. All inks used during the printing process are Australian made using Australian ethanol solvents. This ethanol is Australian made by the Manildra Group, one of Australia's largest vegetable based alcohol manufacturers. All ink's contain no heavy metals or other chemicals that may harm our environment.
An effort is made to utilize 99% of all materials appropriated during the manufacturing process. All our paper waste is recycled through Visy recycling, while ink waste is re-refined into clean solvent and residue ink solids, which are incinerated by an EPA controlled industrial waste disposal company.
The designers and team at Inky Co. always consider what impact any new product will have on our environment. This methodology is key in determining if our product should be brought to market and enjoyed by you the end user.
We thank you for supporting our mission to create Australian made, environmentally friendly products.
